Description Wonko 2012-06-29 13:10:59 UTC
There is not much traffic on the gentoo-amd64 mailing list any more. Most people are probably using 64-bit systems anyway, so I think an additional list only complicates things. Maybe it's better to close it?

Reproducible: Always

I agree, but we better let the amd64 team decide.
Comment 2 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-29 13:16:12 UTC
We have a mailing list?
Comment 3 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2012-06-29 14:24:04 UTC
Fine for me. But the final decision is by lead(s)

@amd64 lead(s): ping

since, nobody cares about it, I'd say to go ahead.

I'm wondering if it makes sense to move all people to gentoo-user ML

Not really, as the 2 lists shouldn't have the same subject matter. It's unfortunate that the ML as of late has mostly been users asking questions and not something of more substance, but just because we have become the defacto standard arch doesn't mean we can just take over a distro-wide ML. If someone wants to police our ML and refer posters to -user or -project or whatever then that fine, but we still need to retain our own list for amd64 specific usage.

Ping, do we still want this to go away?
Comment 9 Mike Doty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-01-07 19:13:02 UTC
Not at this time.
