portage will never touch /usr/src/linux if it still points to a directory that exists but portage will ever try to fully remove the directory where the link /usr/src/linux points to ? no, it wont be removed by portage because it has object files in it thus it isnt empty portage is a tool to make your life easier, it's not going to hold your hand for everything ... plus, trying to do too much can easily result in unwanted behavior |
