Umm...wasn't this supposed to be assigned to the GNOME team? (In reply to comment #1) > Umm...wasn't this supposed to be assigned to the GNOME team? No: plasma-widget-menubar is kde team, appmenu-gtk is maintainer-wanted, and the only part where GNOME team comes in is gtk+ patches - and we have bug #341757 about those. In my opinion, we can output the information during pkg_postinst phase about installing appmenu-gtk to enable the appmenu in gtk+ applications. Consider a user who has a pure KDE environment (no gtk+ application installed), it doesn't make sense for him to install gtk+ right? Furthermore, even if we install both appmenu-qt and appmenu-gtk, there are still some edge cases (such as firefox, libreoffice). We must install firefox/thunderbird's plugin and libreoffice's plugin to make these applications have this feature. the menu that pops up when the category box is clicked for searching widgets, also is buggy that its not scrollable. No progress on blocking bug since ages. Time for removal? Move to maintainer-needed? (In reply to Johannes Huber from comment #5) > No progress on blocking bug since ages. Time for removal? Move to > maintainer-needed? appmenu-gtk is required only for support in GTK applications, it still works fine for Qt. I'm sorry this never eventuated. Plasma 4 will be removed soon along with this package. |
