Description Tom Laermans 2002-06-26 18:29:31 UTC
Hello,

I tried to install Gentoo but failed because my SCSI controller is not
supported natively by the kernel. SuSE however has support in their self-
patched kernel, and i could just run that, but i'd really like to run gentoo on
this machine.

"patches" and descriptions for some distributions can be found
ftp://ftp.tekram.com.tw/Storage/SCSI/PCI/DC-395X/DC-395UW/Driver&AP/Linux/ <-
here, is there any way you could include the Tekram chipset patch in the gentoo
kernel distribution, so I could boot from the Gentoo CD and just modprobe the
tekram module for my Tekram SCSI adapter?

Thanks,
Tom

working on it for mjc-sources...

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
