Right now the ebuild is not checking for the kernel options to be enabled, and that can be bothering. A quick config check (not fatal) would be good.

I actually want to echo this. I was about to file a bug about this as well. I've run into some really weird behaviors when calling eatables without CONFIG_BRIDGE_NF_EBTABLES turned on in your active config.

It's still not checking the kernel config.
