Entering `xterm /usr/bin/nano' works fine here. How would XFCE know that nano needs a tty? There is a specific command to use for launch Terminal apps: !nano foo.txt As in, prepend it with a ! Or if you hit the "Unroll button", as in the Arrow pointing down in the Run menu, you can find "Preferences", from which you can select "Custom Actions" `xterm /usr/bin/nano' - does not work but running it with prefix "!" works. Thanks Why did it change? In previous version xfce4 4.8 "nano" would be enough to run the application; why all of a sudden it needs prefix "!"? xfce4-appfinder was extended and partly rewritten to replace the old Run dialog for 4.10 now you can configure local options like in comment #3, so makes sense to me anyway, wrong place to discuss about upstream design choices, try the xfce4-dev mailinglist if you wish to query them more details: https://mail.xfce.org/mailman/listinfo/xfce4-dev |
