Summary: saslauthd looks for it's config file in the wrong place

Description Niels Laukens 2004-02-15 08:43:55 UTC
saslauthd looks at /etc/saslauthd.conf for it's config file. The ebuild puts it in /etc/conf.d/saslauthd.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install the current version (2.1.14)
2a. strings '/usr/sbin/saslauthd | grep saslauthd.conf'
2b. OR try starting it and watch /var/log/messages (or equivalent)
Actual Results:
saslauthd complains about missing config files

Expected Results:
don't complain

emerge -pv cyrus-sasl

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.14 +berkdb +gdbm -java -kerberos -ldap +mysql +pam +ssl -static 0 kB

Total size of downloads: 0 kB

I don't see this issue on my version.

Niels this is really confusing; can you elaborate a bit? /etc/conf.d is for Gentoo init script configuration. saslauthd wouldn't want to look there.

This isn't what you're talking about, is it? Bug 43829
Comment 3 Niels Laukens 2004-06-29 01:48:40 UTC
Ok, sorry guys, I can't reproduce it anymore... So I switched the bug to "works-for-me"...

If I find out what it was, I'll reopen the bug.

Sorry for your time, thx anyway
