Description Gergely POLONKAI 2012-05-15 09:43:56 UTC
When I tried to emerge www-client/firefox-12.0 on a freshly installed Gentoo system, it crashed. According to the output, it tried to create a directory /root/.gnome2. After this I have created a fully working gnome environment in the /root folder, and the test phase ran happily. With FEATURES="-test", the problem disappeared.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Remove /root/.gnome2 and/or /root/.gnome2_private, set FEATURES="test" in make.conf, and emerge www-client/firefox-12.0
Actual Results:
Firefox build stopped with the message Failed to create /root/.gnome2: Permission denied.

Expected Results:
Firefox should have been successfully emerged, or at least a more clear message should have been reported that make test failed.
