I'm having the same problem. After starting a few downloads kget just sorta locks up. It also started after upgrading to Qt 3.3. I also tried re-emerging kdenetwork to no avail. Portage 2.0.50-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.6.1) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.1 i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2100+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.3.13 distcc 2.11.1 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.7.7 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/ http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://192.168.1.60/gentoo-portage" USE="OSS X aalib acpi alsa apm arts avi berkdb bonobo cdr crypt cups dvd encode evo foomaticdb gdbm ggi gif gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml imlib java jpeg kde libg++ libvorbis libwww lirc mad mikmod mmx motif mozilla moznoirc mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl opie oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline samba sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcltk tcpd tiff truetype x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib" I too am facing this problem. I just tried re-emerging kdenetwork, and that did not improve the situation. Got same problem here, with KDE 3.2.0 and QT 3.3.0. The only way to get KGet work again is to delete .kde/share/apps/kget, but then if you queue again 2 or more download, it hangs again and again and again.. ok i had the same problem. actually not the kget application crashes but only the ftont-end(gui) so in order to solve this problem configure kget as... step1:go to Settings (of kget) step 2:configure kget... step 3:Automation step 4:check Auto shutdown after completing downloads friggos Same problem here, it seems a bug of kget itself, on kde bugs is a lot of request to fix it. I haven't try new kdenetwork alredy, is possible it can relove problems. I tried the patch available on bugs.kde.org. but it doesn't apply cleanly. Created attachment 27492 [details, diff] kdenetwork-3.2.1-kget-crash.patch Here's a new version of patch #4954 at (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75737) fixed to work with kdenetwork-3.2.1. Please test by copying to kde-base/kdenetwork/files/ and uncommenting the epatch line in the kdenetwork-3.2.1 ebuild. Created attachment 28322 [details, diff]
Remove threading from kget
This is an updated version of the more radical patch which completely removes threading from kget (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74597). Works fine so far... Will there be an -r1 ebuild? Removing threading works fine, and has also been done in official KDE-CVS for KDE 3.2.2. 3.2.2 will be out very soon. installed kdelibs-3.2.2 kdebase-3.2.2 and kdenetwork-3.2.2 - kget works fine. 3.2.2 fixes this problem. |
