interestingly no options ("de", "de-DE") will work when i reset my user profile (moving .mozilla to another location). The default for general.useragent.loacale is "en-US" in this case. Maybe the linguas_de system wide language pack is not working at all? OK i narrowed it down to the plugin quick locale switcher. when i use this plugin, german language is possible with "de-DE". Without this plugin it is not possible at all. This Bug also applies to Thunderbird. used Versions: firefox-12.0 thunderbird-12.0.1 seems that the locate-switcher toggled the option Intl.locale.matchOS. The default in the program is true. In this case enabling a language pack has no effect. The mozilla kb says it is vice versa (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Intl.locale.matchOS). Is the different behavior a Gentoo setting? I suggest setting this for Gentoo to false as default. This will have the effect, that the linuguas variable will be respected and not the locale in /etc/env.d/02locale (In reply to comment #3) > seems that the locate-switcher toggled the option Intl.locale.matchOS. You are always more then welcome to override the defualt, but at this time I do not see a point in breaking hundreds of systems for a single user case where a plugin fails to work properly. Reopen if your still seeing issues. Please update all info on bug report if you need to reopen. |
