Broadcom Tigon (tg3) driver works only one way: if the connection (with any protocol) is initiated from the machine running the tg3 -driver, everything works. If the initiative comes from outside, such as trying to ssh to the machine running the tg3, it fails with "TCP Error" and no other information is received. The alternative bcm5700 -driver works fine, but seems to be removed from newer than 2.6.1 -kernels.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. load tg3 module and start networking
2. try to ftp, ssh, http or whatever to the machine running the driver from some other, networked
machine
Actual Results:  
Connection fails with message "TCP Error".

Expected Results:  
Established a network connection.

Can you try one of the recent vanilla 2.6 kernels or the recent gentoo-dev-sources? Thanks.

the bcm driver is only in gentoo-dev-sources, never in vanilla...
tg3 is known to be buggy, nothing we can do about it.
