Is this still true of the 1.4_rc1 live cd? libcrypt is on the 1.4_rc1 CD and pppd works for me now. Okido, closing closing this really closing now:) Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this. |
pppd on the install CD ( 1.2/gentoo-ix86-1.2.iso ) is not functional because it refuses to work without libcrypt.so.1 : > pppd: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.1: > cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory A workaround is # ln -s /lib/libcrypto.* /lib/libcrypt.so.1 (causes a warning and may not work if you really need crypt). Or extract libcrypt.so.1 from the tarball.
