Description headphones 2012-04-25 16:35:52 UTC
I'm not sure where to write this, but Asterisk works fine on ppc and ppc64 after unmasking. We've been using source-compiled 1.4 for a while, but recently moved on to the 1.8 ebuilds, without any errors.
Using the standard ebuild for x86/amd64 and works fine after unmasking.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unmask net-misc/asterisk
2. Emerge
3. Works fine

The net-misc/asterisk-* sound ebuilds work as well, but the net-misc/asterisk-g729 package doesn't (binary).

please give us a complete list of packages.
Comment 2 Jaco Kroon 2012-12-10 19:11:28 UTC
Hi,

It'll be these packages:

net-misc/asterisk
net-misc/asterisk-core-sounds
net-misc/asterisk-extra-sounds
net-misc/asterisk-moh-opsound

@ headphones - I've submitted an ebuild for asterisk-g72x that implements the g729 codec from source (free as in beer, not free as in freedom of speech unfortunately), could you please check if you can get that to work on ppc? I doubt it due to the dependency on icc which I still need to try and get rid off.

Yes, those are the packages.
Where would I get the ebuild for asterisk-g72x? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work anyway if it requires icc, though.
However, it is still possible to use G729 in Asterisk without the G729 package, but only with pass-through audio.

I need the version, but btw repoman fails because needs libpri and some others. Please check your list with repoman.
