I like to vote for this as well.  The current 3.14 ebuild just stops in the compile phase with the following:

checking for kdb2html... not found
configure: error: The important program kdb2html was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

However, the 3.14 ebuild bumped to 4.0.1 built fine, but I'm having trouble in the install phase:

evrey time im traying to install kphone  4.0.1 i get this error,  im using kde 3.2.0

it looks like they aren't using traditional makefiles, so DESTDIR doesn't work.

After looking into ./configure --help i fixes this issue and checked in the new ebuild.
