(In reply to comment #0) > Although bug #348841 was fixed in chromium-17 and worked for me, it does not > work anymore in www-client/chromium-18.0.1025.151. Please post the latest 17.x version that worked for you and earliest 18.x version that doesn't work. What's the definition of "doesn't work" by the way? How should we reproduce the issue? I know that webgl worked at least in version www-client/chromium-17.0.963.46-r1. It does not work with www-client/chromium-18.0.1025.151. I test WebGL by calling http://www.weusecoins.com/globe-bitcoin/ I will compile www-client/chromium-17.0.963.83 and try to narrow down the issue by bysecting. OK, I found it is independent of the version: www-client/chromium-18.0.1025.151 (does not work) www-client/chromium-17.0.963.83 (does not work) www-client/chromium-17.0.963.46-r1 (does not work) "does not work" means the WebGL site mentioned above does not work. Because it used to work on my system with version www-client/chromium-17.0.963.46-r1 this issue must have something to do with changes to my system. Can you give me a hint how to debug this? You could attach content from chrome://gpu-internals/ if relevant > You could attach content from chrome://gpu-internals/ if relevant Ah, this was very helpful! It says: "Problems Detected: Intel mesa drivers are crash-prone.: 76703" http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=76703 It looks like WebGL on Sandybridge graphics is disabled when mesa version is less than 8.0. I think you can close this bug, it will probably get resolved when mesa 8.0 becomes stable. Thanks. Closing then. Note that Chromium also bundles mesa code, so it's not obvious whether the Gentoo mesa has any effect on this. Thank you for finding the cause of this issue. |
