Well, a bug with no activity since linux-3.2... not relevant any more. But you can keep this open if you like. (In reply to comment #4) > currently stable kernel and loop-aes-3.6g. Fails here with 3.4.9. I don't have 3.5.7 > Well, a bug with no activity since linux-3.2... not relevant any more. But > you can keep this open if you like. No activity means nobody worked on it, so apart upstream changes, probably still does not work. Well, I need more information, this package always well behaved, it it builds find here. $ cd /tmp $ tar -xf /var/gentoo/distfiles/linux-3.4.tar.bz2 $ cd linux-3.4 $ copy your .config here $ make modules_prepare $ KERNEL_DIR=/tmp/linux-3.4 USE="aes-ni extra-ciphers keyscrub padlock test" ebuild /var/gentoo/portage/sys-fs/loop-aes/loop-aes-3.6g.ebuild clean install And as 3.4.X is not latest stable, even if we find an issue it won't be fixed... but I don't think it is related to the package nor the kernel. Probably we have different point here. The 3.4 series will be supported for at least 2 years, so it is not the last release, but is an updated kernel. Just to say, I'm not using an EOL like 3.1 (In reply to comment #7) > (In reply to comment #6) > > Well, I need more information, this package always well behaved, it it > > builds find here. > > > > $ cd /tmp > > $ tar -xf /var/gentoo/distfiles/linux-3.4.tar.bz2 > > $ cd linux-3.4 > > $ copy your .config here > > $ make modules_prepare > > $ KERNEL_DIR=/tmp/linux-3.4 USE="aes-ni extra-ciphers keyscrub padlock test" > > ebuild /var/gentoo/portage/sys-fs/loop-aes/loop-aes-3.6g.ebuild clean install > I will test it with 3.6.x asap As it works for me at linux-3.4, and there should not be a difference between yours linux and mine, I would like you to try and execute the above, to see what's wrong. I hope 3.6.11 is an updated kernel for you. Same result with 3.4 in /tmp/ and normally.
Can you please attach your .config file? Created attachment 332786 [details]
.config
Well, with adding module support all is working ok at my side. did you try this before attaching the old .config? (In reply to comment #12) > Well, with adding module support all is working ok at my side. did you try > this before attaching the old .config? done, but same behavior (In reply to comment #13) > (In reply to comment #12) > > Well, with adding module support all is working ok at my side. did you try > > this before attaching the old .config? > > done, but same behavior Please reattach .config you are using. |
