After installing unixODBC-2.2.6-r1 all shared libraries are missing the .so ending, so that I have now /usr/lib/libodbc instead of /usr/lib/libodbc.so and so on. Downgrading to unixODBC-2.2.6 fixes the problem

upgrade libtool to 1.5.2-r3 and try again
