It seems that postgis-2.0.0 depends on gdal. The ebuild should respect the gdal use flag if it is optional, or have a dependency on gdal. Right?

2) Post your `emerge --info' output in a comment.

But BEFORE THAT, run revdep-rebuild and see if that fixes sci-libs/gdal.

reemerging gdal fixes that issue.
