I can't record anything with gentoo-dev-sources (any version) and alsa. Mixer setting are OK and using mm-sources solved the problem.

Soundcard: TerraTec 128pci (es1938)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get the gentoo-dev-sources
2. compile them
3. try to record something

Seems to work again in linux-2.6.3-rc2-gentoo :-)
