I don't think it's specific to the ebuild, because I have the same issue building 0.8 and 0.9 from upstream (without going through Portage). I contacted the upstream author, and he says that wmauda does not support audacious linked against Gtk-3.x. It will produce an error at runtime. Still, I'd like to figure out why it won't even compile. Perhaps there is some deeper issue, not specific to this dockapp, with Gtk-2.0 and Gtk-3.0 header conflicts? I still haven't had a chance to sit down and focus on this. FWIW, the upstream author is also on Gentoo, and he is able to build with no issues. Should I maybe try sync-ing and updating and see if the problem magically goes away? My tree isn't more than a week or two old. Also, looking back at the GCC command line, I can see where include paths for both Gtk-2.0 and 3.0 are specified. I guess it's finding the wrong one first. I haven't had to fix include paths with GCC for several years, so off the top of my head I'm not sure why this is happening. Perhaps your audacious is a bit too old. 3.2.1 upon 'pkg-config audacious --cflags' returns '', yours seems to return gtk3 cflags. Still, if upstream still didn't port it to gtk3 (didn't even polish it a bit for deprecated symbols in gtk2)... I synced today (on new installed box) and I have the same problem. So my audacious should be actual (as wmauda took it as its dependency from new portage, i did not installed it explicitly) (In reply to comment #5) > I synced today (on new installed box) and I have the same problem. So my > audacious should be actual (as wmauda took it as its dependency from new > portage, i did not installed it explicitly) comment 4 was about *wmauda* upstream. Due to it being still a *gtk1* -> gtk2 port, porting it to gtk3 is a bit more difficult than it should be. Still the same with 0.9? wmauda 0.9 is still gtk2 only. With the package being only GTK+2 and audclient removed from audacious 3.5, it will dropped in a month (see #538464) |
