Sorry but this behaviour is "normal". Some translated strings come out of the Qt message translation bundle and they are handled via LC_MESSAGES. By "normal", you mean something about what should be notified upstream to provide proper fix (replace tr() with ki10n(), remove "Preferred Languages", put note into documentation, ...), or something what is considered OK? |
Created attachment 308017 [details] screenshots KDE 4.8.1 text translations depends on both "Preferred languages" setting in system settings and "LC_MESSAGES" env variable. Each controlls translation of some part of application's texts. I dont see justification for such behavior and believe so whole translation should be controlled with "Preferred languages" setting. I am attaching screenshots of described behavior, naming convention is <LC_MESSAGES>_<Preferred languages>_x.png
