*Sigh* Nope. You are in fact mistaken. If the following lines seem unclear, please clarify: gtk - Adds support for x11-libs/gtk+ (The GIMP Toolkit) gtk2 - Use gtk+-2.0.0 over gtk+-1.2 in cases where a program supports both. And, if you build with -gtk, you tell it that you DONT want gtk+ support, ANY version. The gtk2 flag is only the "preference". So with -gtk You get motif, if I recall correctly. Just as you state, you don't want gtk+ support. Sorry, then. I'm used to the "x11-themes/*" ebuilds where in many cases things work like I described in the first place, which then is a little bit inconsistent. It would be nice if policy would be clearer here. Is there any *easy* way to "protect" myself from gtk+-1.* apps? add '<x11-libs/gtk+-2' to /etc/portage/package.mask |
