try 2.6.2 since as you say, it looks like a kernel bug *** Bug 40604 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I just had it to freeze in kernel version 2.6.0-test11 as well. I ran that specific compiled kernel with no trouble before. I also am having trouble getting Konqueror to launch and when I do, KDEInit will not launch Kwrite when clicking on a text file. I did do a emerge -u world the other day. I wonder if this is related to the update and if these problems are related to each other. ?? I'm going to start a thread in forums and see what others think. I'll post a link if anything comes up. I'll update when something new comes up. dalek Well here is a update. I'm up to kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r10 and still have the same problem. I put the sensors as a module this time and when they stop updating I just rmmod them then modprobe them back. They start working again when I do that. They continue to work for quite a while then stop again. I rmmod and modprobe them again and it works again. I don't have to reboot anymore but this is still annoying as heck. I notice it shows this as resolved, I wish someone would till my rig that. It is still broke even after updating the kernel a couple of times. Any more ideas??? Dale Oh, I updated the thread on the forums as well. Link above. |
