Description A. Person 2012-02-25 17:32:02 UTC
Previously, USE="-branding" would remove the Gentoo background image from lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf, but now it removes all config from that file.

I don't understand your request. Are you saying that the greeter config file installed by USE=branding is incomplete?
Comment 2 A. Person 2012-02-27 17:24:40 UTC
If I have USE="branding", I get this config file:

[greeter]
background=/usr/share/lightdm/backgrounds/gentoo1024x768.png
theme-name=Adwaita
icon-name=gnome
cursor-name=gnome
font-name=Cantarell 11
xft-antialias=true
xft-dpi=96
xft-hintstyle=hintslight
xft-rgba=rgb

If I have USE="-branding", I get this config file:

[greeter]
#background=
#show-language-selector=false
#theme-name=
#font-name=
#xft-antialias=
#xft-dpi=
#xft-hintstyle=
#xft-rgba=

Ok so? The "branding" useflag offers a customized (or Gentoo specific if you like) greeter. There is nothing wrong with that. If you don't like this, then don't use this use flag and use the vanilla greeter instead.

Well, it's a change in behavior compared to the last version in which the branding USE flag only determined which background image was specified in the config file. I guess I mistook it for a bug.
