Would be nice to use PKGDIR instead or hardcoding /usr/portage/packages as, for example, I cannot use default location due my portage tree being on a small 400M partition with reiserfs

The script is obsolete... new files are at 
https://www.gitorious.org/gentoo-stuff/lo-bin-build/
(and require a dedicated chroot)
