Same here Following line is from the /var/log/messages: kernel: [ 86.506498] vlc[3610]: segfault at 10 ip 00007f96e1b38c0f sp 00007f96b2fc6b48 error 6 in libnvidia-tls.so.295.20[7f96e1b38000+3000] Same here on ~amd64 vlc[31872]: segfault at 10 ip 00007fa2bb008c0f sp 00007fa280886b28 error 6 in libnvidia-tls.so.295.20[7fa2bb008000+3000] Same here, similar backtrace from core dump, and also no crash in gdb, ~amd64. Tried recompiling glibc, libX11, libXext, libxcb with gcc4.6 with "-O1 -march=core2", didn't help (previously they were compiled with gcc4.5 at "-O2 -march=core2"). As a work-around: unmask vlc-2.0 and use it. I have an nvidia GTS 450 video card and the problem mentioned above just disappear when I upgraded vlc. Indeed problem gone with vlc-2.0.0 (In reply to comment #5) > Indeed problem gone with vlc-2.0.0 Closing then How can this be a fix? Especially when vlc-2.0.0 (which is masked) doesn't even compile. I've opened up Bug 405173 for that problem. |
