The munin-1.4.6-if_-hardened.patch file in the portage tree generates output that does not match the config section of the same plugin. This results in empty graphs and error in the munin-update.log on the data collector:

2012/02/15 22:20:08 [WARNING] Service if_err_eth0 on julie.network.lan/10.0.0.1:4949 returned no data for label trans
2012/02/15 22:20:08 [WARNING] Service if_err_eth0 on julie.network.lan/10.0.0.1:4949 returned no data for label rcvd

To fix this, update the patch in line 201/202 to produce lines for labels 'trans' and 'rcvd' in stead of 'up' and 'down'.

I see that the new patch is in files/ and the ChangeLog and this bug reference a -r5 ebuild but there isn't one in the repo.  Did you forget to commit it?

It was in -r5 which got removed when 1.4.7 was introduced into the tree, it seems.
