Bug 403313 – app-text/epdfview-0.1.8: fails to start because of missing shared object file

After updating my system I did manage to install epdfview, but now it refuses to start,

Error message:

epdfview: error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to install epdfview 0.1.6 with poppler 1.8 (this should fail)
2. emerge --sync
3. While sync is not finished, install epdfview 0.1.8 as soon as emerge lets you.
4. emerge --update --deep --with-bdeps=y --newuse world
5. start epdfview
Actual Results:  
error message as above

Expected Results:  
epdfview starts

Workaround:

ln /usr/lib/libtiff.so /usr/lib/libtiff.so.3
