Description Lucas Treffenstädt 2012-02-10 18:36:57 UTC
When trying to build media-libs/mesa-7.11.2, the build fails saying
gallivm/lp_bld_debug.cpp: In function 'void lp_disassemble(const void*)':
gallivm/lp_bld_debug.cpp:189:25: error: 'getHostTriple' is not a member of 'llvm::sys'

gallivm/lp_bld_misc.cpp: In function 'void lp_set_target_options()':
gallivm/lp_bld_misc.cpp:97:4: error: 'NoExcessFPPrecision' is not a member of 'llvm'

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge sys-devel/llvm-9999
2. Try to emerge media-libs/mesa-7.11.2
Actual Results:
Mesa fails to compile

Expected Results:
Mesa is being compiled

Comment 2 Matt Turner gentoo-dev 2012-02-11 01:42:52 UTC
I don't think this is something we can fix, at least not in general.
Comment 3 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2012-02-11 03:45:34 UTC
We could adjust dependencies to avoid known non-working versions. E.g. <sys-devel/llvm-3.1 in this case.
Comment 4 Matt Turner gentoo-dev 2013-02-23 03:12:37 UTC
We should probably do 1:1 version dependencies with llvm.
