Not kernel-version specific bug. Appeared sometimes withdifferent kernels. Today with 3.2.1-r2 network comes up successfuly. 3.2.1-gentoo-r2 kernel If bringing up network interface completely failes (wi-fi router was power down) ifplugd correctly switches it up. After update to sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.6.11 I've find interface boot-time switching up function working correctly. Now interface is completely handled by net-wireless/wpa_supplicant (including auto-up depending on access point state). I'm not enough familiar with kernel hacking, so don't guess about how/why issue was gone away. So, I want to continue monitoring for one or two kernel updates before marking this bug fixed. Currently I use: [I] sys-apps/openrc Installed versions: 0.11.8(12:36:55 12.01.2013)(elibc_glibc kernel_linux ncurses pam unicode -debug -kernel_FreeBSD -newnet -prefix -selinux -static-libs) [I] net-wireless/wpa_supplicant Installed versions: 0.7.3-r5(19:23:06 30.12.2011)(dbus eap-sim gnutls kernel_linux readline ssl wimax wps -debug -fasteap -kernel_FreeBSD -madwifi -ps3 -qt4) Update to =sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.7.9 I've missed. =sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.7.10 works fine. In that case this seems to be an issue with the kernel you were using at the time. If you disagree with closing this as worksforme, please feel free to reopen. |
