Since /dev/v4l/* is owned by root.root ( by default ), any normal user can't use
v4l after remounting devfs. I suggest changing it to root.audio, or creating a
new group - video, for this purpose.

what about just doing a "chgrp -R root.video /dev/v4l" local ... devfs will
save you changes of permissions and groups ...

Bleh, this is already fixed on gentoo-src CVS ... ill do a new baselayout
release soon.  See bug #2015.
