The base_pkghost is mentioned in the documentation for using pre-built packages, but no host is known where to get them from. ;-(

are you talking about PORTAGE_BINHOST ?
because the variable you talk about i dont see anywhere

Ah, sorry, of course! I mean PORTAGE_BINHOST. In the 1.4 default make.conf, it is not mentioned. Which one can I use to get precompiled binaries?
