when i specify "--cachedir=<a_temporary_directory>" in the command line then an initramfs is created an placed into the /boot directory. IMHO this is just a workaround and not a permanent solution to the problem... after a "rm /var/cache/genkernel/*.bz2" genkernel runs fine even without the "--cachedir=<a_temporary_directory>" command line parameter. Your cache had a bad file. |
