You should at least provide some information, such as what versions of GNOME, gnome-screensaver, xorg-server, ... and with what USE flags they have been compiled. As well as `emerge --info`. Please close this bug report as it turned out to be an error in the Xvesa implementation I was using for the XDMCP session (Tiny Core Linux).
