Description Maxim Britov 2012-01-21 09:53:18 UTC
With x11-misc/xkeyboard-config since 2.4.0 and with 2.5.0 now I have problem in gnome-terminal.
When I press F10 in midnight commander I have context menu in gnome-terminal and "exit y/n" in midnight commander. I have to close context menu and then press "yes" in mc. In empty console I gets symbol "~" and context menu.

Reproducible: Always

I don't think `emerge --info` or build.log would help in this bug, so moving to maintainers.
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-01-21 11:50:58 UTC
I have seen other apps also behave in the same way and, after reading https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/26408, I think this looks like a bug in xkeyboard-config
Comment 3 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2012-01-21 14:06:57 UTC
Upstream says that the bug is not in xkeyboard-config.

Google seems to indicate that the relationship between gnome-terminal and the F10 key is special.
Comment 4 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-01-21 14:36:39 UTC
Looks like people need to configure this behavior inside "Edit" -> "Keyboard shortcuts". There, you can configure F10.
Comment 5 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-01-21 14:38:08 UTC
It works fine with gnome-terminal-2.32, but probably it won't work for gnome-terminal-3 due:

May be, but 2.3 works fine for me, 2.4-2.5 doesn't.
Comment 7 Alexandre Rostovtsev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-09-25 15:20:21 UTC
Upstream release notes indicate that gtk+-2.24.13 and 3.6.0 include fixes for this problem.
Comment 8 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2012-09-27 00:23:21 UTC
x11-misc/xkeyboard-config-2.7 is now in tree which should fix this issue in combination with the packages mentioned in comment 7.

Marking as FIXED.
