Samuli added some sed'ing to our packages without working with this upstream again, to have it look at unversioned libpng instead of libpng15, but we have no tracking of talking with this upstream now to my knowledge. This is for that. Can't investigate enough for upstream use cases, so filing here to not forget meanwhile..

This sed wouldn't be needed if our PM would support "If package foo gets built, package bar must be built too" from bug 192319. This makes the sed Gentoo-specific.

Looking at the configure.ac how gdk-pixbuf upstream is relying on the versioned (libpng12, libpng14, libpng15, etc) checks tells me they seem to think it has some worth (and it doesn't, plain .so versioning is enough like for any other shared library). This would make the sed non-Gentoo specific.

Didn't feel like arguing this with upstream, but if you do, go ahead
