there is no "C.UTF8" locale for us to default to. said bug also wouldn't be fixed by picking a default, just mitigated. we'd still have to wait for portage and friends to stabilize before we could push the cacert updates. so until POSIX specifies a C.UTF8, i don't think setting a default of say en_US.UTF8 would be terribly friendly ... http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.standards.posix.austin.general/1282 |
