hi, someone on the forums suggest that this might be a missing mirror setting. I don't think this makes much sense. I talked to bungernaught on yahoo some more and got him to send me the mirror settings from his make.conf. GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://adelie.polymtl.ca/" I don't think it would make sense at all for this to be a mirror problem. The problem seems to be that ftp.perl.org no longer has the files, the old ebuilds are looking for. thanks for the help! I'm having the same problem - stable packages only and the source package just ins't on the perl.org ftp server, so install fails. THe package, as mentioned in the thread is still avaialble at http://www.lfs-es.org/packages/5.0/perl-5.8.0.tar.bz2 as a work around. does this effect all new instalations? shouldnt it be fixed fairly soon if so? why wouldnt it effect all stage 1 instaltions? does this effect all new instalations? shouldnt it be fixed fairly soon if so? why wouldnt it effect all stage 1 instaltions? |
