Please run revdep-rebuild --library '/usr/lib64/libsasl2.so.2.0.23' and let portage emerge the resulting packages. I have added necessary warnings and preserve_old_lib call to cyrus-sasl-2.1.25 so this error will not be happening any more. A minor note: the reason of this problem can be found in the ChangeLog: *cyrus-sasl-2.1.23-r3 (08 May 2011) 08 May 2011; Eray Aslan <eras@gentoo.org> +files/cyrus-sasl-0001_versioned_symbols.patch ...aren't random debian patches just great ? > +files/cyrus-sasl-0001_versioned_symbols.patch

That is the reason, correct. But I've decided to punt that patch and this upgrade is as good time as any.
Um ok, I ran revdep-rebuild --library '/usr/lib64/libsasl2.so.2.0.23' and there were no packages that linked to it, however, I also rebuild openldap and that fixed the problem..... thanks for your help! |
