I thought I'd file a separate bug report as the original report I commented on appears to be about some other issue.

In file included from widgets/messagewidget.cpp:21:0:
widgets/messagewidget.h:26:28: fatal error: QDeclarativeView: No such file or directory

So it needs to RDEPEND on x11-libs/qt-declarative.

As also suggested in bug #390625, DEPEND=$DEPEND should be replaced with DEPEND=$RDEPEND.
