ffmpeg flags
(>=media-libs-0.7.7 !media-libs/libav)

but audacious compile fine with libav 0.8_pre20110818

p.s: there's also a warning like
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-chardet, --enable-sse2

Is it not working with libav in the end? It looks like you were right and it builds at least.

Builds fine -> why I opened the bug
Skip ffaudio -> why I stated the bug as invalid few minuts later

As L Barbato replied to this bug, I return my experience

blender-2.57-r1 only compile with 0.7_pre20110327 (removed from portage tree)

doesn't compile with 0.8_pre20111116
