Daniel Drake reported through [e-mail] that he would like to see some explanation on primary master/slave etc. in the handbook:

I don't see any main problems here (but I'm just awake) except that we should check if this naming scheme is used on all architectures or just the x86. Also, we should see if this can be bundled with the naming for SCSI stuff (although that can make the particular section rather lengthy).

Another possibility is to point to some resource on the I'net where this is explained.

Or we can just say that it's not really beneficial to the installation instructions to deal with this (knowledge of primary/secundary master/slave is nowhere necessary during the installation). This latter is my personal opinion.

I'm going to stick with my own gut feeling on this matter. As an introduction to master/slave and primary/secundary isn't needed I'd rather not explain it (or at least not in the installation instructions).

I'll close this bug as WONTFIX unless someone gives me a better reason to include it nonetheless.
