Assuming the PKG_CONFIG_PATH variable is to be set in prefix then that variable is set incorrectly. There is a typo in the section of the subject ebuild that defines the PKG_CONFIG_PATH variable in etc/env.d/99pkgconfig. The typo is in the line echo "PKG_CONFIG_PATH=${EPREFIX}/usr/$(libdir)/pkgconfig:${EPREFIX}/us r/share/pkgconfig" >> "${T}"/99${PN} which should read echo "PKG_CONFIG_PATH=${EPREFIX}/usr/$(get_libdir)/pkgconfig:${EPREFIX}/us r/share/pkgconfig" >> "${T}"/99${PN} Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge pkgconfig in prefix 2.env | grep PKG 3. Actual Results: PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/data/prefix/gentoo/usr//pkgconfig:/data/prefix/gentoo/usr/share/pkgconfig Expected Results: PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/data/prefix/gentoo/usr/lib/pkgconfig:/data/prefix/gentoo/usr/share/pkgconfig
