I don't know that software, but may it be related to using USE="graphite" for "sys-devel/gcc"? No it has nothing to do with the graphite useflag in gcc Fixed in main tree. |

Add "media-libs/harfbuzz **" to /usr/portage/package.keywords 2. Unmask relevant dependencies 3. Add "media-libs/harfbuzz graphite" to /usr/portage/package.use 4. Run emerge and watch it fail
