Just to clarify, the reason for this change is that some people may use both stable 4.0 and development versions in the same time. and I just realised, that gentoo is using slot 9999 in such cases. For example, sys-devel/automake (1.11) 1.11.1 (9999) **9999 This should be more logical. Next suggestion would be to create the symlink "/usr/lib/metasploit". because some tools like SET (http://www.secmaniac.com/) has to point to metasploit location. Probably, the ideal solution would be to create an eselect script to control that symlink later (see kernel.eselect or timidity.eselect). Created attachment 306667 [details]
RFC of eselect-metasploit
This is NOT to be used, by anyone, at anytime, for any reason. This is basically a few sed lines different from kernel.eselect and just happens to look right.
I'm accepting comments on this, not submitting it for use.
eselect-metasploit is in the tree, slots are correct on all supported versions. I'll be discontinuing 2.7 shortly due to being outstandingly out of date. |
