Bug 386467 – media-libs/mesa-7.11 causes X to fail to start

After upgrading mesa to 7.11 on my PPC, X failed to start with the following error:

prog: Unknown command line argument '-disable-mmx'.  Try: 'prog -help'


Downgrading back to 7.10.3 solved the problem. When emerging 7.11, the llvm USE flag is automatically enabled, while it is disabled with 7.10.3.

This seems similar to the problem described here, except that my version of llvm is 2.8, not 2.9:

PPC does not have MMX to begin with, so I think that somewhere, someone forgot to take system architecture into consideration.

does it still apply for mesa-7.11.2 or mesa-8.0.4-r1 or mesa-9.* ?

Is this issue still valid?
