texlive-bibtexextra-2011 ships biblatex-1.5, which causes bugs running the current biber version. Apparently this gets fixed in biblatex-1.6.

you can use dev-tex/biblatex-1.6 for this, it overlays texlive's version

i'll remove it from texlive when we'll have biber
