I'm following http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/gentoo-alt/prefix/bootstrap-macos.xml, and emerge --oneshot --nodeps eselect (Code Listing 1.10) fails with:

 * Last emerge --sync was 51d 2h 12m 20s ago.

I guess. Ultimately the bootstrap snapshot needs updating.
