Apparently method of registering thumbnailers has changed in gnome3 so this package has to be updated to support it (here's an example based on gnome-nds-thumbnailer):

This should be reported to upstream, but I don't know how to contact him :(

I have sent him two emails (for different issues) but haven't heard back from him :(

gnome-raw-thumbnailer-3.0.0 is in portage now, so closing.
