dnsmasq-2.0_rc1.ebuild was just published, and while it updates cleanly, it has significant issues as an upgrade.

In 1.18, dnsmasq co-existed with the ISSC dhcpd server.
In 2.0, dnsmasq does not.  It provides it's own (undocumented) dhcp server and chokes on the old config file.

When you go to figure out how to reconfigure things, there's nothing at the associated web site, http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/doc.html, except this:

UPDATE Dnsmasq version 2 now offers an integrated DHCP server instead of the lease file reader. This gives better control of the interaction with new functions (for example fixed IP leasess and attaching names to ethernet addresses centrally) it's also much smaller than ddnsmasq and ISC dhcpd which is important for router distros. 

All great, but how do I reconfigure my existing server?  There's no documentation except for the dnsmasq --help output.

Simply put, this build is not yet ready for most Gentoo users and should not be marked as such.

I would expect some sort of WARNING about the software not working with ISSC's 
dhcpd daemon running, and best of all, an upgrade path for my existing config 
file.

You'll have to bug upstream about documenting it, but I'm marking it unstable again.

Understood re who is responsible for documenting it, I just don't want others to go through the same nasty few hours I just did...
